Barnes Charitable Trust

The Barnes Charitable Trust was set up in 1991 under the terms of the will of the late John Barnes, who for many years was the owner of Earnseat School.

David Marland:

The Trustees expressed their sadness at the death, on March 27th. of David Marland.

David had been a Trustee since October 2007. He took over the role of supervising and liaising with the Contractors employed by the Trust. Through this he played an essential part in the day to day maintenance of Ashmeadow Woodlands.

The Trustees wished to pay tribute to David and to record their gratitude for his very substantial contribution to the work of the Trust over the past ten years. He will be greatly missed.

The trees and bushes spoiling the view from the seats near the war memorial have recently been cleared. This has opened up the vista once again.

The 2017 grants have all now been allocated.
